At 10:30 p.m., Dipper finished writing in Journal 3 and put it on his desk. The journal was open on a page with a map to Moonstone Cave. Mabel was in her room with Waddles.

A few minutes later, Dipper and Mabel heard a loud noise from the gift shop. Dipper took his flashlight, and Mabel followed him downstairs.

The gift shop was dark. The front door was locked, but one window was open. On the floor, they saw small muddy footprints. They went past the shelves and found the journal under a chair.

One page was missing — the page with the map.

Mabel looked near the window and found a short piece of red thread. Dipper checked the kitchen, but no food was missing.

Then they followed the footprints to the basement. The basement door was open. Inside, they found three acorns and an old green leaf. The footprints ended near a small hole in the wall.

Jeff the Gnome took the missing page.

Jeff climbed through the open window and saw the map in the open journal. He thought it showed the way to rare Moonlight Mushrooms, so he took the page and returned to the forest.
